The Oregon State Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy on 32-year-old Randy Lee Willard on Friday and determined that he died of a gunshot wound. Willard's death is still under investigation by Portland Police Homicide Detectives and no arrests have been made in the case.

Portland Police Homicide Detectives continue to investigate at the scene of this morning's homicide in the 3500 block of Southeast 72nd Avenue. The deceased male inside the residence has been identified as 32-year-old Randy Lee Willard. The Multnomah County Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy tomorrow afternoon to determine the cause of death. Investigators are following up on leads in this investigation but have not identified any suspects at this time. This is an ongoing investigation and more information will be released as it becomes available.

Portland Police responded to the 3500 block of Southeast 72nd Avenue shortly after 2:30 a.m. this morning, December 2, 2010, after a neighbor called 911. The neighbor told Bureau of Emergency Communications dispatchers that she heard loud sounds coming from a nearby home. Uniform Officers entered the home and discovered a deceased male inside with blood on his body. Officers called Portland Police Homicide Detectives to the scene regarding this suspicious death. After the initial investigation, Homicide Investigators have determined this to be a homicide and are now conducting a Homicide investigation.

Portland Police Investigators do not have anyone in custody or a person of interest at time as they are in the early stages of this investigation. Investigators on scene have not been able to positively identify the deceased male. The Multnomah County Medical Examiner has been notified and will be responding to scene.

This is an ongoing investigation and additional information will be released as it becomes available.

At approximately 2:30 a.m. this morning, December 2, 2010, Portland Police responded to the 3500 block of Southeast 72nd Avenue at the request of Portland Fire and Rescue personnel. Uniform officers found a deceased person inside a residence. Portland Police Homicide Detectives are enroute to the home to begin a suspicious death investigation. Portland Police PIO will be enroute to the scene. Media staging will be in the 7-11 parking lot near the intersection of Southeast Powell Boulevard and Southeast 72nd Avenue.

Powell Boulevard remains open with Southeast 72nd Avenue blocked from Southeast Powell Boulevard to one block south of Powell.
