At approximately 8:30 a.m. this morning, the neighborhood search for two armed robbery suspects concluded. No arrests have been made.
Detectives have spoken with the victim, 54-year-old Robert Williams of Northeast Portland, and learned that Mr. Williams was walking to a bus stop to go to work for the day when the two suspects approached him from behind and demanded his wallet. After obtaining the wallet, the two suspects fled on foot into the neighborhood. The robbery occurred at Northeast 111th and Halsey, not 109th and earlier reported.
Officers and K-9 units from the Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT) searched the area but did not locate any suspects.
The suspects are described as:
#1 - Male black, 20s, 5'10", dark clothes, armed with a handgun.
#2 - Male black, 20s, 6'02", dark clothes.

Residents in the area should feel safe to resume normal activities.
This morning, Wednesday August 18, 2011, at 6:12 a.m., Portland Police officers assigned to East Precinct responded to the report of an armed pedestrian robbery at Northeast 109th Avenue and Halsey Street.
Officers arriving in the area learned that two black males armed with at least one handgun robbed the victim at gunpoint then fled into the neighborhood.
Officers have established a neighborhood perimeter from Northeast Halsey to Glisan, 109th to 114th Avenue. Both Halsey and Glisan are open to traffic.
The Portland Police Bureau's Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT) has been activated and is responded to assist in a neighborhood search.
Police are asking for residents to remain in their homes if they live in the area and report any suspicious activity related to this robbery by immediately calling 9-1-1.
