Witness Helps Portland Police Locate and Arrest Car Prowler in Northwest Portland

On Sunday March 11, 2012, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Portland Police officers from Central Precinct responded to the report of a car prowl at Northwest 20th Avenue and Everett Street. A witness gave officers a good description of the suspect and officers were able to locate the suspect, 51-year-old Allan Curtis Beck, and took him into custody.

At the time of his arrest, Beck was also in possession of a stolen bicycle, and several baggies of suspected methamphetamine, and other stolen property.

Based on the officers' investigation, Beck is suspected of being involved in other car prowls and officers will be following-up to see if any additional cases can be linked to Beck.

Beck was booked into the Multnomah County Jail for Possession of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Entry into a Motor Vehicle, Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree, Theft in the Second Degree, Theft of Lost or Mislaid Property, and Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree.

Bail is set at $14,500 and Beck will be arraigned on Monday.
