23-Year-Old Man Arrested After Disturbance on a TriMet Bus Friday Night

On Friday April 27, 2012, at 8:50 p.m., Portland Police officers assigned to East Precinct responded to the report of an assault on a TriMet bus at Southeast 82nd Avenue and Powell Boulevard.

Officers arrived and the suspect, 23-year-old Daniel Lee Juarez Jr., ran from police but was taken into custody.

Officers learned that Juarez was on the bus and, without provocation, began yelling and threatening passengers. Juarez began shoving passengers and struck one adult male a few times in the face. Juarez then got off the bus and got back on to throw a garbage can, then got off and ran from arriving officers.

The victim was did not require medical attention.

Juarez was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of Interfering with Public Transportation, Harassment, and Disorderly Conduct in the Second Degree. Juarez is also being held on a probation violation.
