May 03, 2012 10:20The Portland Police Bureau, in cooperation with Crime Stoppers, is asking for your help in solving a shooting in Southeast Portland.
On Wednesday February 22, 2012, at 5:12 a.m., Portland Police officers from Central Precinct responded to the report of a shooting in the 100 block of Southeast Belmont Street. Officers arrived and located two men who'd been shot by an unknown assailant. Both men had been sleeping when they were shot.
The victims, 57-year-old Carter "Joe" Hickman and 43-year-old Albert "Allen" Dean, were treated for their injuries at a Portland hospital and have since been released.
The suspect is described as a white male wearing dark clothing and was in a black or dark blue-colored newer style Volvo station wagon with a large dog in the rear cargo area of the vehicle.
Detectives would like to hear from anyone with information about this shooting, anyone who may have seen this vehicle before or after the shooting, or any instances where someone has driven up harassing or threatening homeless people.
