Hayhurst School will remain in lockdown until school lets out this afternoon. All students will be dismissed out the front doors after school.

This morning, Monday June 4, 2012, at 10:15 a.m., Portland Police officers assigned to Central Precinct responded to the report of a suicidal female armed with a gun inside a residence in the 5100 block of Southwest Fairvale Court.

Officers have asked for Hayhurst School, located at 5037 Southwest Iowa Street, to be put in lockdown as they work to contact the distraught woman. The school is not involved in the incident, rather it is within a few hundred yards of the residence.
