Portland Police Arrest a Fourth Person in Connection with the Nancy Schoeffler Fatal Hit and Run Investigation

This morning, Wednesday June 6, 2012, at 8:20 a.m., investigators from the Portland Police Bureau's Traffic Division arrested 28-year-old Christopher Michael Rhea in connection with the ongoing investigation into the hit and run death of 63-year-old Nancy Schoeffler on West Burnside Street.

Rhea was arrested at his residence in Lake Oswego and was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of Hindering Prosecution and Tampering With Physical Evidence (Two Counts). These charges come as a result of Rhea's actions after the fatal hit and run. Rhea was not in the car at the time of the incident.

Rhea is Ashley Chavez's boyfriend and was with her at the time of her arrest in Bellingham, Washington. He was detained and releassed at that time.

Rhea will be arraigned in Multnomah County Court on Thursday June 7.
