June 08, 2012 13:00UPDATE: The victim in last yesterdays assault was an adult woman. She went to Rocky Butte to exercise. When she returned to her car she was assaulted by a man with a knife. Ultimately she was able to fight and get away in her car and she went to the hospital. The woman was treated and released.
Detectives are working on a sketch and will release it as soon as it is available.

On Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 3:30 p.m. Portland Police officers assigned to East Precinct took a report of an assault that occurred on Rocky Butte. The victim was assaulted but was able to get away.
Officers called for a police canine and searched the area but did not locate a suspect. The Forensic Evidence Division also responded and assisted in the investigation. Detectives were notified and will be conducting follow up on the case.
The suspect is described as a white male in his 40's, 5'10/250 lbs with muscular shoulders, a fat stomach, brown greasy-scraggly hair, long brown beard, bigger nose with a crooked tip, wearing an over sized gray tee-shirt and black sweatpants.
