The driver killed in Monday's traffic crash in North Portland has been identified as 57-year-old Ronald Bruce Moser. Moser was the driver of a Ford van which was traveling at a high rate of speed eastbound on North Columbia Boulevard and hit a commercial propane truck at the intersection of North Peninsular Avenue.
Moser was transported to an area hospital where he later died of massive injuries. It is not known if drugs or alcohol were a factor in Moser's reckless driving.
The driver of the propane truck, 48-year-old Dean Webberly, was also transported to an area hospital for treatment to minor injuries. Webberly cooperated with investigators and does not face any charges.

UPDATE: The male adult who drove the van has died of his injuries. The investigation is continuing.
The identity of the deceased man will be released after the notification of next of kin.

This morning, Monday June 11, 2012 at 8:15 a.m. Portland police officers assigned to North Precinct responded to a serious injury crash on Columbia Boulevard at Peninsular. A van crashed into a propane truck and the driver of the van, an adult male has been transported to an area hospital with life-threatening-injuries.
The driver of the propane truck, an adult man is also injured and being transported with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Traffic Division Major Crash Team is on scene investigating. Columbia BLVD is closed down west to the I-5 freeway entrance.
The investigation is ongoing.
