###ORIGINAL MESSAGE BELOW###
The Portland Police Bureau is asking for the public's help in locating missing 77-year-old Helen Lavelle, who was last known to be at her home, in the 4900 block of Northeast Killingsworth Street, at about 8:00am today, June 11, 2012.
Family members called police after becoming concerned, when they found that Helen and her car were missing from her residence, where she lives alone. They said Helen gets confused and may have been unable to find her way home. She also has other medical conditions which, if left untreated, could greatly jeopardize her welfare.
Helen is a 77-year-old white female, 5'6", weighing 150 pounds (she was described as being about 30 pounds lighter than pictured in her attached DMV photo). She has curly brown and grey hair, blue eyes, and often wears glasses. If on foot, she will likely be walking slowly, due to a recent injury.
Helen is believed to have left home in her white, 1993 Subaru Legacy 4-door sedan, with Oregon license plates 922 CQY. The vehicle has a large dent between the passenger-side doors, which may also be a slightly different shade of white than the rest of the vehicle.
Anyone who knows of Helen's whereabouts is asked to immediately call 9-1-1. Anyone with additional information about this case is asked to contact Detective Mike Weinstein, Missing Persons Unit, at 503-823-0446.
