The Portland Police Bureau Gang Enforcement Team is asking for the public's help in solving a shooting in Northeast Portland.
On Sunday May 6, 2012, at 2:17 a.m., Portland Police officers assigned to North Precinct responded to the report of a shooting at 715 Northeast Broadway outside the 715 Inn. Officers arrived and located one gunshot victim, 60-year-old Christine Anderson of Southwest Portland. Anderson was suffering from a single gunshot wound to her upper chest and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
Officers interviewed several people inside the 715 Inn and learned that someone started shooting outside of the club and bullets hit a club window, a Jeep parked in front of the club and the victim. Witnesses described only hearing the shots, not seeing a suspect and it is not known if the suspect was on foot or in a vehicle.
Investigators do not believe that Anderson was the intended target and that the target may have been one of the gang associates inside the club.
