Portland Police Arrest Driver After Early Morning Pursuit in Southeast Portland

On Tuesday July 3, 2012, at 2:07 a.m., Portland Police officers assigned to East Precinct attempted to stop a vehicle at Southeast 86th Avenue and Knapp Street but the driver sped away. Officers pursued the vehicle until it crashed at Southeast 58th Drive and Johnson Creek Boulevard.

The driver of the vehicle got out and ran on foot but was quickly caught by police. During the pursuit, the suspect crashed into a parked car and an occupied pick-up truck. Officers located narcotic and a handgun in the vehicle after the suspect was arrested.

The suspect, 30-year-old Damon Jeffry Davis, was arrested and booked into the Multnomah County Jail for Delivery and Possession of Heroin and Cocaine, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, as well as a list of other charges. Bail is set at $127,500.
