Portland Police Homicide detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances of Wednesday night's homicide at 99th and Southeast Stark Street.

The Oregon State Medical Examiner is conducting an autopsy this morning on 31-year-old Robert Edward Ford Jr., a resident of Southeast Portland.

Witnesses at the shooting scene told police that a silver vehicle, possibly a Lexus, was involved in the shooting and that it was last seen headed eastbound on Stark from the parking lot of the Mystic Gentlemen's Club.

A Gresham Police Department officer stopped a similar vehicle occupied by four people at 192nd and East Burnside Street. All four people in the car have been detained at this time as persons-of-interest and investigators believe that there is not risk to the public at this time.

Detectives are continuing to explore the possibility that the shooting is gang-related.

The investigation is continuing and updates will be provided as they become available.

###ORIGINAL MESSAGE BELOW###

On Wednesday July 18, 2012, at 11:17 p.m., Portland Police officers assigned to East Precinct and the Gang Enforcement Team responded to the report of gunshots and someone shot in the parking lot of the Mystic Gentlemen's Club, located at 9950 Southeast Stark Street.

Officers arrived at the scene and located a victim suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. The victim, an adult male, was transported to a Portland hospital for treatment. His condition at this time is not known.

A substantial amount of witnesses came out of the Mystic and were in the parking lot at the time officers arrived. Preliminary information at the scene indicates that the victim may have crashed into several cars and a "party bus" in the parking lot of the Mystic after he was shot.

At this point, there is not clear suspect information to share with the public.

The Gang Enforcement Team is at the scene in the early stages of an investigation. If the victim does not survive his injuries, the investigation will shift to Homicide detectives.

Anyone with non-emergency information about this shooting is asked to call (503) 823-3333 to make a report.

No additional details are expected to be available until after 10:00 a.m. Thursday.
