Today, July 19, 2012, Portland Police Bureau Robbery detectives arrested two men in connection with an armed robbery that occurred last week in the Woodstock neighborhood.
The Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT) served a search warrant this morning at a residence in the 2400 block of Southeast 87th Avenue and arrested 20-year-old Dillon Mitchell Sparks.
A second suspect, 20-year-old Nicholas Emilio Lunetta, was arrested at a residence in Oregon City.
Both suspects have been charged with one count of Robbery in the First Degree and booked into the Multnomah County Jail.
The investigation started on Thursday July 12, 2012, at 2:27 a.m., when Portland Police officers assigned to East Precinct responded to the report of an armed robbery at the Plaid Pantry, located at 4214 Southeast Woodstock Boulevard.
Officers arrived and contacted the clerk who told police that four men entered the store, one armed with a handgun, and robbed the store of a large quantity of cigarettes and an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the store.

Today, detectives recovered a rifle and a handgun during the search. The handgun is believed to be the same gun used in the robbery.
Detectives are continuing to investigate and are working to determine the identity of the other two suspects.
