Portland Police have identified the victim in Thursday night's homicide as 49-year-old Bernard Linton Yarborough. The Oregon State Medical Examiner performed an autopsy this morning and determined that Mr. Yarborough died of a single gunshot wound. Mr. Yarboroguh is not a gang member; however, the suspects in this case may be gang members and detectives are exploring that possibility.
Limited suspect information is that there are at least two African American males in their mid-to-late 20s involved in the shooting. Detectives have not been able to verify if they actually left in a vehicle.
Portland Police Homicide detectives would like to hear from anyone with information on this shooting. Detective Jim Lawrence can be reached at (503) 823-0867 or James.Lawrence@PortlandOregon.gov.
