On Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 4:30 a.m. Portland Police officers assigned to the Special Emergency Reaction Team served a search warrant for East Precinct at a residence in the 6900 block of Southeast Crystal Springs Boulevard.
The warrant service was the culmination of a month long investigation by East Precinct officers regarding a chop shop for stolen vehicles in the area. Officers began their investigation as a result of numerous calls from the community about stolen vehicles in the neighborhood and the suspicion of criminal activity at the residence. The activity at the residence was negatively impacting the neighborhood livability.
Officers seized miscellaneous stolen cars parts at the residence and made one arrest.
The service of the warrant furthered the investigation by seizing evidence, making an arrest and identifying additional suspects.
The investigation is continuing. The name of the person arrested will be released once they are booked in the County Jail.
