Suspicious Residential Fire in Southeast Portland's Richmond Neighborhood

This afternoon, Wednesday August 15, 2012, at 2:22 p.m., Portland Fire & Rescue firefighters and Portland Police officers responded to the report of an explosion and fire at a house in the 4500 block of Southeast Woodward Street. Additional information was received that a person was seen fleeing the house into the neighborhood.

Firefighters arrived and were able to get the fire under control. Arson Investigators from Portland Fire & Rescue and Portland Police responded and are conducting an investigation into the cause of the fire.

The person seen running from the residence is described as a white male in his 20s, black shirt, black jean shorts, black baseball cap, riding a black bike with "ram style" handle bars.
