UPDATE: Portland Police investigate pedestrian fatally struck in the Centennial neighborhood

UPDATE: The name of the man fatally injured is 62-year-old William Lee Jones. The driver of the car is 47-year-old Daniel Aubuchon.


On Monday, August 27, 2012 at 8:30 p.m. Portland Police officers assigned to East Precinct responded to 156th and Southeast Division on a call of a pedestrian stuck.

Arriving on scene officers called for Portland Fire and AMR ambulance. The pedestrian has been pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the vehicle that stuck the pedestrian has remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. The deceased person is an adult male believed to be elderly.

The Forensic Evidence Division, the Traffic Division Major Crash Team and the Oregon State Medical Examiner are all on scene conducting the investigation.

Division at 156th is shut down during the investigation. No additional details are available at this time.
