Correction: The correct spelling of the victims name is Tyrone not Tryone.

ARREST: 18-year-old Carl Demarcus Flie has been arrested and booked in the Multnomah County Jail for shooting 21-year-old Tryone Johnson.

The Gang Enforcement Teams investigation revealed that Flie and Johnson were in the parking lot purchasing a firearm when they began to argue over the transaction. During the argument Flie shot Johnson multiple times. Johnson is recovering in an area hospital.

In the course of the investigation the Gang Enforcement Team served a search warrant at an apartment at 115 NE 102nd Avenue where they seized an AR-15 rifle, two 9mm handguns, Methamphetamine and a stolen TV.

Flie was booked on Attempted Murder, Assault in the First Degree, Assault in the Second Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

A second individual 29-year-old Ronald Wilson was also arrested and booked in the Multnomah County Detention Center. Wilson was believed to be involved in the sale of a weapon with Flie and Johnson. Wilson was charged with a Parole Violation, he will likely face additional criminal charges.

This morning, Tuesday August 29, 2012, at 1:08 a.m., Portland Police officers assigned to East Precinct responded to multiple reports of a shooting in the 100 block of Northeast 102nd Avenue.

Officers arrive in the area and locate a 21-year-old male lying in the parking lot of 115 Northeast 102nd Avenue suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Medical personnel arrived and transported the victim to an area hospital where he is being treated for critical injuries. At this point, the victim is expected to survive.

Officers have conducted a neighborhood canvas and have interviewed several people. No arrests have been made at this point and a crime scene is being maintained as the investigation continues.

Gang Enforcement Team detectives, assisted by Homicide detectives, are the lead investigators in the shooting as based on preliminary information the shooting is believed to be gang-related.
