Portland Police catch a car thief in the Glenfair neighborhood

On Wednesday August 29, 2012 at 8:55 a.m. Portland Police officers assigned to East Precinct attempted to make a traffic stop of a vehicle believed to be a stolen Honda but it would not stop. Officers pursued the car and at 166th and Northeast Wasco it crash into a house. No one in the residence was injured.

Officers pursued the suspect to the Tuxedo Park apartments at 165th and NE Halsey where the suspect ran from officers and hid in an apartment. Eventually the suspect, a white male, came out to officers and was taken into custody without incident. The suspect has been transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injures from the crash.
