The drivers involved in Wednesday night's crash on I-205 have been identified as 24-year-old Artemio Diaz-Ibarias of Milwaukie and 22-year-old Marcos Romero of Northeast Portland.
Investigators determined that Diaz-Ibarias was involved in a minor hit and run on Northeast Glisan Street above I-205 then left the area at a high rate of speed southbound on I-205. A witness reported the hit and run but at this time no victim has come forward to make a report.
On I-205, Diaz-Ibarias rear-ended a pick-up that was stopped on the right shoulder of the freeway at the Foster Road exit. The driver of the pick-up, Marcos Romero, suffered minor pain as a result of the crash.
Diaz-Ibarias was transported from the crash scene with life-threatening injuries but once at the hospital it was determined that his injuries were not serious. Investigators determined that Diaz-Ibarias Blood Alcohol Content was more than three times the legal limit of .08%.
Diaz-Ibarias was cited at the hospital for DUII and Reckless Driving.
