Crime Stoppers Case #12-40 Plaid Pantry Robberies

The Portland Police Bureau and the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office, in cooperation with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, are asking for the public's help in solving two armed robberies in October 2012.

On Saturday October 13, 2012, at 11:45 p.m., Deputies from the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office responded to the report of an armed robbery at the Plaid Pantry located at Northeast 242nd Avenue and Glisan Street.

During the robbery, the suspect fired a shot. Nobody was injured and the suspect fled the area in a vehicle, possible a dark-colored full-size SUV.

A few hours later, on Sunday October 14 at 2:02 a.m., Portland Police officers assigned to East Precinct responded to the report of an armed robbery at the Plaid Pantry located at 6630 Northeast Glisan Street.

Officers arrived in the area and contacted the victim who told police that the suspect entered the store displaying a handgun. The victim told police that the suspect took all the cash in the register and threatened to shoot the victim.

Officers checked the neighborhood for the suspect but did not find anyone matching the suspect's description.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, medium build, goatee, tattoo on the right hand, wearing black pants and a black hoody, armed with a handgun.

A surveillance photo is being released to help the public identify the suspect to police.

Plaid Pantry, Inc. is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect in this case. This reward is separate and independent from Crime Stoppers of Oregon.

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information, reported to Crime Stoppers, that leads to an arrest in this case, or any unsolved felony, and you can remain anonymous.
