UPDATE: Portland Police Arrest Robbery Suspect Who Assaulted an Apartment Manager

45-year-old Patrick Robert Croghan was arrested and charged with Burglary in the Second Degree, Robbery in the Third Degree, Theft in the Second Degree, Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree, and Assault in the Fourth Degree.

Croghan was booked into the Multnomah County Jail and will be arraigned on Wednesday.

This afternoon, Tuesday November 13, 2012, at 1:59 p.m., Portland Police officers assigned to Central Precinct responded to the report of robbery at a multi-unit dwelling at 2062 Northwest Marshall Street.

Officers received information that the apartment manager confronted a man who broke in to the building and who was attempting to break in to the coin-operated laundry machines. The apartment manager was assaulted as the suspect fled the location into the neighborhood.

Several officers established a neighborhood perimeter in the area and a Police K-9 Unit responded and began to search for the suspect.

The suspect was quickly located hiding in a courtyard in the 1700 block of Northwest Marshall Street and was taken into custody.

Officers are continuing their investigation at this point and updates will be released as they become available. The apartment manager's injuries were not-life-threatening.
