UPDATE: Robbery Suspect Choked by Fat Cobra Employee - Portland Police Investigating

Portland Police Robbery Detectives have booked 56-year-old General Bell into the Multnomah County Jail on a charge of Robbery in the Second Degree.

Investigators learned that Bell entered Fat Cobra and simulated a weapon as he demanded money before the employee choked him into submission.

Bell suffered no injuries as a result of the choke.

Bell will be arraigned on Monday in Multnomah County Court.



This morning, Friday November 16, 2012, at 6:49 a.m., Portland Police officers responded to a robbery alarm at Fat Cobra Video, located at 5940 North Interstate Avenue.

As officers were enroute, they received additional information from the owner, who spoke to the employee, that the employee had a robbery suspect in custody. Officers learned that the employee choked the suspect into submission and was now standing over him with a billy club.

Police and Medical Personnel arrived and medical transported the suspect to an area hospital. The suspect was conscious and breathing.

Robbery Detectives are enroute to continue this investigation and updates will be provided later today.
