Portland Police Investigating an Armed Robbery at a Southeast Portland Movie Theater

Today, Wednesday November 21, 2012, at 12:30 p.m., Portland Police officers assigned to East Precinct responded to the report of an armed robbery at the Century 16 theater, located at 4040 Southeast 82nd Avenue.

Officers arrived and spoke to the victim who told police that the suspect entered the theater and walked up to the counter and demanded money after displaying a handgun tucked into his waistband. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect left the business and fled on foot into the neighborhood.

Officers, including a Police K-9 unit, searched the neighborhood and did not locate the suspect.

The suspect is described as a white male in his late 40s or early 50s, 5'10" to 6' tall, medium build, gray hair, unshaven, dark green hoodie, blue jeans, and a beanie cap.
