December 21, 2012 19:25This afternoon, Friday December 21, 2012, at 4:53 p.m., Portland Police officers assigned to East Precinct responded to the Umpqua Bank branch located at 3557 Southeast Hawthorne Boulevard on the report of a bank robbery.
Officers arrived in the area and spoke to the victim who told police that the suspect entered the bank and presented a demand note to the teller. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money the suspect left the bank and walked away into the neighborhood.
Officers checked the area but did not locate anyone matching the suspect's description.
The suspect is described as a white male wearing a blue coat over a green hoody and a red stocking cap.
