UPDATE: Portland Police Investigating Stabbing After Domestic Argument in Mt. Scott-Arleta Neighborhood

31-year-old Robert James Thomas was arrested by Portland Police officers after he was released from the hospital where he was being treated for non-life-threatening injuries he suffered after attacking two women.

Thomas was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on two counts of Assault in the Fourth Degree and one count of Harassment (Domestic Violence).

The entire case will be reviewed by the Multnomah Count District Attorney's Office.



This morning, Tuesday January 1, 2013, at 6:08 a.m., Portland Police officers responded to the report of a stabbing at a residence in the 7500 block of Southeast Ramona Street.

Officers arrived and learned that an adult male had been involved in a physical altercation with his girlfriend when two of her female friends tried to intervene. The male began to physically attack the two witnesses and one of them retrieved a knife to defend herself. One witness stabbed the man then the other witness retrieved the knife and stabbed him again.

The man suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a Portland hospital for treatment. The witnesses and the girlfriend have cooperated with investigators.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is continuing.
