Portland Police Arrest 18-Year-Old Woman After Speeding Away from Police and Crashing in Downtown Portland

On Friday January 25, 2013, at 9:52 p.m., Portland Police officers assigned to Central Precinct were flagged down about a suspected drunk driver at Northwest 3rd Avenue and Couch Street.

Officers made contact with the driver, who immediately sped off out of the area. Officers began canvassing the Downtown area for the car when the original responding officer spotted the car at Southwest 5th Avenue and Pine Street.

Additional officers arrived and attempted to stop the car but the driver sped away southbound on 5th Avenue, running several red lights. Officers got back to their cars and attempted to locate the vehicle again.

Police located the vehicle and the driver at Southwest 5th Avenue and Salmon Street, where the driver crashed into two vehicles.

The driver, 18-year-old Anna Borisovna Lopatina, was arrested and charged with multiple crimes, including Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants (DUII) and Attempt to Elude by Vehicle.

A passenger in her car was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Lopatina was booked into the Multnomah County Jail.
