Portland Police Investigating an Armed Robbery and Shots Fired in the Concordia Neighborhood

This evening, Saturday January 26, 2013, at 8:39 p.m., Portland Police officers assigned to North Precinct responded to Northeast 42nd Avenue and Killingsworth Street on the report of a pedestrian robbery with shots fired.

As officers were enroute they learned that the suspects fled on foot into the neighborhood. Arriving officers established a neighborhood perimeter and began searching the area with a Police K-9 Unit.

The victim told police that he arranged to meet someone at 42nd and Killingsworth to sell an iPhone he'd advertised on Craigslist.

The victim told police that he met the two suspects at the corner to sell the phone and one of the suspects punched him and took the phone. Both suspects then fled on foot southbound on 41st Avenue from Killingsworth.

The victim followed the suspects in the car and he told police that one of the suspects fired two shots at him as he followed. The victim was not hit by gunfire and did not require any medical attention after being punched.

Officers searching the neighborhood did not locate anyone matching the suspects' descriptions.

One suspect is described as a dark-skinned African American male, 18-19 years old, 5'7" tall, thin build, wearing dark clothing. This suspect was armed with a handgun.

The second suspect is described as a light-skinned white male, 18-20 years old, 5'7" tall, heavy build, wearing a blue sweater.

An officer assigned to the Transit Police Division was involved in a non-injury crash at 42nd and Killingsworth while responding to this robbery call.
