On Saturday February 2, 2013, at 10:19 a.m., Portland Police officers assigned to North Precinct responded to the report of four men fighting at Northeast 2nd Avenue and Clackamas Street.

Portland Police arrived and located three men who'd been beaten with a pipe by another man. Officers learned that all four men were drinking together, sitting by the freeway, when an argument broke out and the suspect began hitting the other three men with a pipe.

None of the three victims suffered life-threatening injuries.

Officers located the suspect behind the State Hospital trying to climb a fence, where he was taken into custody.

The suspect, 55-year-old Michael David Oswald, was arrested for three counts of Assault in the Second Degree and booked into the Multnomah County Jail. He will be arraigned on Monday.
