This afternoon, Thursday February 14, 2013, at 4:57 p.m., Portland Police officers assigned to Central Precinct responded to Southeast 27th Avenue and Rhone Street on a harassment call.

Officers arrived and spoke to the victim who told police that a few minutes before they arrived, he was shot at by someone in a car.

Before providing any details to the officer, the victim left the scene. A witness called 9-1-1 to report seeing someone fire shots at a man on a bike near 26th and Powell. Officers checked the area and did not locate a crime scene but did contact additional witnesses who told police that they heard gunshots.

The victim called police back and stated that he was shot at (but not hit) by a white male driving a boxy, older dark gray Honda Civic with oxidized paint on the hood. The driver was described as wearing a beanie and glasses.

At 6:14 p.m., officers assigned to East Precinct responded to the Cricket Store located at 4531 Southeast Woodstock Boulevard on the report that a man walked in to the store with a gunshot wound to his hand. Before police arrived the man left the store and did not contact police.

The possible gunshot victim is described as a white male, at least 6'2" tall, wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and hair in a buzz cut. He was accompanied by a white female, short, pregnant, with natural long red hair and a fistful of red balloons.

It is not known if these two incidents are related so Portland Police would like to hear from anyone with information about either or both incidents. Information can be sent to CrimeTips@PortlandOregon.gov.
