Portland Police Investigating a Bank Robbery in the Pearl District

This afternoon, Friday February 15, 2013, at 5:05 p.m., Portland Police officers assigned to Central Precinct responded to the U.S. Bank branch located a 1040 Northwest Lovejoy Street on the report of a bank robbery.

As officers were enroute to the bank they received additional information that the suspect used a demand note to obtain an undisclosed amount of money then left the bank in an unknown direction on foot.

As some officers contacted the bank, other officers began a neighborhood search for the suspect.

Witnesses told police that the suspect was a white male, 30-40, 5'08" tall, 170 pounds, short hair, scruffy gray facial hair, wearing a dark-colored hoody and blue jeans.

Officers checked the neighborhood, including some area residential buildings, but did not locate anyone matching the suspect's description. Officers are continuing to investigate possible leads in the neighborhood.
