Portland Police Investigating a Bank Robbery in Northwest Portland

This evening, Tuesday March 5, 2013, at 5:20 p.m., Portland Police officers assigned to Central Precinct responded to the report of a bank robbery at the Wells Fargo bank branch located at 1640 Northwest 19th Avenue.

Officers arrived in the area and contacted bank employees. Officers learned that the suspect was armed with a handgun when he demanded money from the bank. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect fled the area on foot.

Officers conducted an extensive neighborhood search for the suspect but did not locate anyone matching his description.

The suspect is described as an Asian or Hispanic male, 5'8" tall, wearing a black stocking cap, black scarf, a black jacket, large black sunglasses, and possibly a fake beard and mustache.
