March 12, 2013 12:10The Portland Police Bureau, in cooperation with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public's help in solving a 2011 homicide in Southeast Portland.
On Wednesday July 20, 2011, at 10:20 p.m., Portland Police officers from East Precinct responded to the report of shots fired in the area of the Southeast 135th Avenue and Sherman Street. Officers arrived in the area and found 18-year-old Larry Ma suffering from a gunshot wound. Medical personnel responded and transported Mr. Ma to an area hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Officers searched the neighborhood for possible suspects but did not locate anyone. Homicide Detectives and Criminalists from the Forensic Evidence Division responded and began an investigation into the shooting.
Detectives have learned that Mr. Ma was shot while seated in his car somewhere North of where officers found him on 135th Avenue. Detectives believe that Mr. Ma was shot, and then drove his car southbound for a few blocks before crashing into a yard at 2214 Southeast 135th Avenue.
