Portland Police Investigating a Residential Armed Robbery in the Mt. Tabor Neighborhood

This afternoon, Thursday March 14, 2013, at approximately 1:45 p.m., Portland Police officers assigned to East Precinct responded to the report of a residential armed robbery at a home in the 100 block of Southeast 72nd Avenue.

Officers arrived and spoke with the victim who told police that he was outside his garage when two men approached him, one of them armed with a handgun. The victim told police that the suspects forced him into the house at gunpoint as they demanded jewelry. The armed suspect stayed with him on the main floor while the second suspect went upstairs and rummaged through his property.

After obtaining an undisclosed amount of jewelry, both suspects left the home and walked away into the neighborhood.

Several police officers, including a Police K-9 Unit, searched the neighborhood but did not locate anyone matching the suspects description.

One suspect was described as a Hispanic male in his 30s, stocky build, dark complexion, wearing dark clothes and armed with a handgun.

The second suspect was described as a tall white male with a pockmarked face, wearing a red sweatshirt and blue jeans.
