Car crashes into police cars during traffic stop near Central Precinct

UPDATE:

The suspect in this case is 36 year old Jeffery A. Fuller. Mr. Fuller was booked into Multnomah County booking facility on accusations of Attempt Assault I, Criminal Mischief I, DUII, Fail to Perform Duties of Driver, and Reckless Driving.

On officer witnessed Mr. Fuller driving a 2000 Pontiac and collide with a 2001 Subaru. The officer initiated a traffic stop. Mr. Fuller collided with a police car. Mr. Fuller was taken into custody at the scene.

Nobody was injured in the collision.

The investigation is ongoing.

On April 3. 2113 at about 9:12 p.m. Portland Police initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle near SW Madison and SW 2nd Ave, which is near the Portland Police Central Precinct and Multnomah County jail. That vehicle collided with more than one police car before coming to a stop. No officers were injured, nor was the driver of the stopped vehicle.

Officers took one person into custody. A taser was deployed.

At this time SW Madison and SW 2nd are blocked as police conduct a traffic crash investigation. This will take some time.

This investigation is just beginning. Information will be released here as it is available, most likely tomorrow morning.
