Z-Man Scholarship Foundation 'The Talent Within' Talent Show on Friday Night

The first annual "The Talent Within" talent show, hosted by Z-Man Scholarship Foundation and the Portland Police Bureau Youth Services Division will be held Friday, April 26 at the University of Portland Chiles Center at 6:00 p.m.

15 top performers were chosen by their Portland high schools to compete for a $5,000 scholarship to the college of their choice. The acts will include dancers, singers, pianists and a poet. The participating high schools are Roosevelt, Jefferson, Grant, Benson, Lincoln, Wilson, Cleveland, Franklin, Madison, David Douglas, Parkrose and POIC.

In addition to student acts, there will be live performances from Michael Allen Harrison, Julianne Johnson, TrayJay, and the Back Alley Barbers.

Portland Police Chief Mike Reese will be one of the judges. Special guest, American Idol contestant, Aubrey Cleland will also be among the judges.

Tickets: $10 for adults, $5 for students. There are still some tickets available to buy at the door.

Media options:

All interested media can come to dress rehearsal at the Chiles Center from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Each student act will be practicing their performance on the talent show stage. You will have an opportunity to interview the students at this time. The media is also welcome at the show, which runs from 6:00 - 9:30 p.m.
