Portland Police Investigating an Attempted ATM Theft in Sunnyside Neighborhood

This morning, Tuesday April 30, 2013, just before 7:00 a.m., Portland Police officers assigned to East Precinct responded to Southeast 42nd Avenue and Belmont Street on the attempted theft of an ATM machine.

Officers arrived in the area and contacted the witness who told police that a person tried to load an ATM machine into a smaller gray SUV but was unsuccessful. The suspect got into the SUV and was last seen driving away eastbound on Belmont.

The suspect is described as 6'0" tall, heavy build, wearing all black clothing.
