UPDATE - ARRESTS: Arson Investigators Seek Public's Help Identifying Two Suspects in Mill Park School Fire

Portland Fire & Rescue Arson Investigators arrested two men in connection with the March 6, 2013 dumpster fire at Mill Park School in Southeast Portland.

24-year-old Daniel Cristurean and 24-year-old Jonathan Austin Weatherall both turned themselves in to investigators this evening and were booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of Reckless Burning, Disorderly Conduct in the Second Degree and Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree.

Arson Investigators would like to thank the community for the numerous tips leading to the identification of both suspects.



Portland Fire & Rescue Arson Investigators are asking for the public's help in identifying two arson suspects captured on surveillance video.

On March 6, 2013, two males were caught on camera setting fire to a garbage dumpster at Mill Park School located at 1900 Southeast 117th Avenue. Fortunately, the fire did not extend to the school as originally reported to 9-1-1 and the fire was extinguished.

Dumpster fires are dangerous in that they can quickly ignite neighboring structures such as homes, apartments, and businesses. School fires can have a devastating economic and educational impact.

The suspects are described as two unknown race males, late teens or early 20s.
