Portland Police Bureau Commander Mike Crebs to be Promoted to Assistant Chief

Chief Mike Reese announced today that Commander Mike Crebs of the Transit Police Division will be promoted to Assistant Chief (Services Branch) to replace Eric Hendricks who will be retiring in August after 27 years of service.

As Assistant Chief of Services, Commander Crebs will oversee the Training Division, Personnel, the Office Professional Standards, Fiscal Services Division, Statistical Support Division and the Records Division.

Commander Crebs is a 21-year-veteran of the Portland Police Bureau. Prior to joining the Portland Police Bureau, Commander Crebs was a police officer in the Midvale (UT) Police Department and the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office for 11 years. He will be assigned to the Chief's Office during a transitional period to work with Assistant Chief Hendricks.

"Assistant Chief Hendricks has dedicated his professional career to improving the Portland Police Bureau and public safety during his 27 years of service to our community," said Chief Mike Reese. "I am grateful for his strong leadership and steadfast support as an assistant chief the past three years."
