The investigation into this morning's crash in Southeast Portland is continuing. The child who was hit by a car is 10 years old and is in critical condition at a Portland hospital.

Investigators determined that the child was walking with his family in the crosswalk at 82nd and Center. After reaching the center median island, the child stepped out into the crosswalk towards the westside of 82nd Avenue and was struck by a southbound Honda driven by a 58-year-old female.

The first police officer at the scene immediately rendered CPR to the 10-year-old boy and continued until medical personnel arrived and were able to take over care of the child.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Neither speed or alcohol appear to be factors in this crash.

No citations have been issued and the investigation is continuing.
