UPDATE - ARREST and PHOTO: Fatal Stabbing in Northeast Portland's King Neighborhood - One Person Detained

Homicide Detectives arrested 26-year-old Salathiel Laroy Dale for murder in connection with last night's stabbing.

Dale and the victim, 33-year-old Duane Bailey, were involved in a domestic relationship. Investigators determined that there was a disturbance between the two men leading up to the stabbing, which occurred in the street outside a residence in the 400 block of Northeast Going Street.

Dale was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on one count of Murder and will be arraigned on Monday July 8, 2013.



This evening, Thursday July 4, 2013, at 9:12 p.m., North Precinct officers responded to the report of a disturbance at a residence in the 400 block of Northeast Going Street.

As officers were still en route to the scene they received updated information that someone was stabbed at the location.

Officers and medical personnel arrived and located a male adult stabbing victim. He was transported to a Portland hospital where he died from his injuries.

Officers established a neighborhood perimeter and searched for the suspect. A male adult matching the suspect's description has been detained and officers are not presently looking for anyone else.

Homicide Detectives and Criminalists from the Forensic Evidence Division are en route to the scene to begin a death investigation.

Northeast Going Street is blocked off from Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to 7th Avenue.

No additional information is available this evening.
