Sunday Afternoon Traffic Pursuit Ends in Northeast Portland's Rose City Park Neighborhood - One Man Arrested

On Sunday July 7, 2013, at 12:11 p.m., East Precinct officers attempted to stop a red 1995 Honda Civic at Southeast 82nd Avenue and Division Street for traffic infractions. The driver, later identified as 31-year-old Michael Andrew Pollack, sped away from officer leading them on a traffic pursuit into Northeast Portland.

In the 2400 block of Northeast 50th Avenue, Pollack stopped his car and ran into the neighborhood. Officers established a neighborhood perimeter and called for a Police K-9 Unit to respond to the scene.

Several officers, including the K-9 Unit, searched the neighborhood and located Pollack hiding behind a kiddie pool in the 2500 block of Northeast 49th Avenue. Pollack was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Multnomah County Jail on a charge of Possession of Methamphetamine. Additional charges may be added at a later time.
