Portland Police Investigating an Early Morning Armed Robbery of Lents Neighborhood Restaurant

This morning, Friday August 2, 2013, at 5:46 a.m., East Precinct officers responded to Oliver's Cafe on the report of an armed robbery.

Officers arrived in the area and contacted the victim who told police that she arrived for work then went back outside for a moment when a man on a bicycle rode up to her, turned her around and held a sharp object against her back.

The victim told police that the suspect demanded money from the restaurant. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect left the business in an unknown direction. The victim was not injured during the robbery.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5'6" tall, medium build, wearing a black rag over his face, dark clothes, and smelled of body odor and alcohol. The bicycle is described as a BMX-style bike.
