UPDATE: Stabbing in Sullivan's Gulch Neighborhood Injures One Man - No Arrest

The victim in yesterday's stabbing, 51-year-old James Carlton Scarrow, remains in serious condition at a Portland hospital.

No arrests have been made in this case.



This afternoon, Sunday August 4, 2013, at 2:51 p.m., North Precinct officers responded to the 1300 block of Northeast 28th Avenue on the report of a stabbing.

Officers and medical personnel arrived and located the victim, a 51-year-old male, suffering from stab wounds. The victim was transported to a Portland hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers learned that the victim and suspect, both transients, were involved in some kind of property dispute prior to the stabbing.

Officers searched the neighborhood but did not locate anyone matching the suspect's description.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned African American or Hispanic male, short hair, full beard, under 6' tall, wearing baggy pants and pushing a shopping cart.
