UPDATE - VIDEO: Portland Police Investigating a Parkrose Heights Neighborhood Bank Robbery

The Portland Police Bureau has released surveillance video from yesterday's bank robbery in the Parkrose Heights neighborhood to help identify the suspect.

This afternoon, Wednesday August 14, 2013, at 3:39 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to the Columbia Bank branch, located at 10735 Northeast Halsey Street, on the report of an armed bank robbery.

Officers arrived in the area and contacted bank employees who told police that the suspect entered the bank, displayed a handgun, and demanded money. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money the suspect bank on foot and ran into the neighborhood.

Officers conducted an extensive neighborhood search for the suspect but did not locate anyone matching his description.

Officers did locate a few bills of US currency suspected of being taken in the bank robbery in one yard in the area.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 50s, 5'9" tall, 200 pounds, dark hair, dark baseball cap, glasses, a black t-shirt with a colorful design on the front, and tan shorts.
