Gang Enforcement Team detectives are continuing to investigate last night's shooting that injured three people in Downtown Portland.

The victims; 26-year-old Leonard Brightmon, 22-year-old Xavier Bolden; and, 22-year-old Ronnie Smith were all transported to Portland hospitals for treatment. Brightmon and Bolden's injuries were serious but not life-threatening. Smith is in critical condition but expected to survive his injuries.

Investigators learned that the Portland Spirit had been rented out for a private party that attracted a large number of gang members and associates. The suspects approached a line of waiting people and there was a confrontation between the victims and suspects before shots were fired.

The shooting occurred in Waterfront Park, near the gangway to the Portland Spirit. At the time of the shooting, there were approximately 300 people on-board the Portland Spirit waiting for the party to begin.

After the shooting, Portland Fire & Rescue boats searched the river near the Portland Spirit to make sure no additional victims or witnesses went into the water. None were located.

No arrests have been made and there is no new suspect information.
