Portland Police Investigating a Bank Robbery in Downtown Portland near Portland State University

This afternoon, Monday August 26, 2013, at 1:32 p.m., Central Precinct officers responded to the report of a robbery at the U.S. Bank branch located at 410 Southwest Harrison Street.

Officers arrived in the area and contacted bank employees who told police that the suspect used a demand note to obtain an undisclosed amount of money. After obtaining the cash, the suspect fled the area on foot towards Portland State University.

Officers conducted an extensive search of the area, including parts of the Portland State University campus but did not locate anyone matching the suspect's description.

The suspect is described as a white male in his late-30s, 5'8" tall, slim build, brown or black hair that was parted on one side, glasses, slight facial hair growth, dark-colored sports coat over a white shirt, and dark-colored pants.

Surveillance photos have been released to assist in the identity of the suspect.
