Today, August 29, 2013, a detective from the Portland Police Bureau's Special Property Investigations Detail and an officer assigned to the Behavioral Health Unit arrested 46-year-old Theresa Reba Mozell White of North Portland, for her role in the theft of a wedding ring from a resident of a Northeast Portland assisted-living facility.

Portland Police were originally called to the assisted-living facility in July 2013 on a report that an unknown woman had entered the facility's dining hall, encountered a 92-year-old resident, and pulled a wedding ring off the victim's finger against her will. The ring was located in a nearby pawn shop, and transaction records helped police identify White as the suspect.

White was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on the following charges: Robbery in the Third Degree, Theft in the First Degree, and Theft in the Second Degree.

The victim, assisted-living facility and pawn shop are all requesting privacy at this time and do not want to do any media interviews.
