The man who died last night has been identified as 48-year-old Michael Patrick Hobson. The Oregon State Medical Examiner is awaiting further tests before determining a cause of death.

On Friday September 6, 2013, at 11:31 p.m., North Precinct officers responded to a parking lot in the 3500 block of Northeast Garfield Avenue on the report of a man lying unconscious on the ground.

Officers and medical personnel arrived and determined that the man was deceased. The man appears to be in his mid-40s.

At this point it is not known what caused the man's death or why he was in the parking lot.

Criminalists from the Forensic Evidence Division and detectives are at the scene conducting a death investigation.

The Oregon State Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy on Saturday to determine the man's identity and cause of death.

No additional details will be available until after the autopsy.
